This fictional project was based on a brief to create new covers for an existing book series. The choice fell on Brothers Grimm’ fairy tales, reinterpreted in a new context.
The classic stories are shifted into adult fiction and presented as crime novels. The well-known symbolism and settings of the tales are translated into realistic depictions of contemporary life, where the dark and threatening are clearly grounded in social reality.
SYNOPSIS
SNOW WHITE
Beneath the polished surface of the city lies a darker world, and at its center is Snow White. Beautiful, calculating, and sharp, she runs the drug trade in the most exclusive circles. Her innocent look hides a ruthless mind, making her both feared and admired, and almost impossible to read.
Around her is a tight group of young recruits from the streets. Known as the Dwarfs, they manage her operations, move product, and stay silent. But when a new rival enters the scene, and a secret from her past resurfaces, things begin to fall apart.
Snow White is pushed into a world of betrayal, greed, and violence, where danger is always close and one mistake could cost her everything.
HANSEL AND GRETEL
Hansel and Gretel are siblings abandoned in the city’s most dangerous areas, where threats are never far away. When a woman who seems kind and generous offers them food and shelter, it feels like a way out. But beneath the surface lies something far darker. What first feels like safety slowly turns into control, as their trust is used against them.
Before they fully understand the situation, they are drawn into a world of manipulation and exploitation. What looked like care reveals itself as a trap, and the woman’s true intentions are more sinister than they could have imagined.
To escape and protect each other, they must find a way out. But freedom comes at a cost. A dark, modern retelling about sibling bonds and survival in a world where no one else is there to protect them.
LITTLE RED RIDING HOOD
Little Red Riding Hood is young, curious, and ready to explore the world beyond her safe surroundings. One cold evening, as darkness falls, she walks alone through the city’s rougher areas, unaware of what might be waiting for her. Out of the shadows appears an older man. Charming, confident, and unsettling, with a smile that feels off and a gaze that seems to read her completely.
What starts as an innocent conversation quickly shifts. He shows interest and attention in a way that draws her in, but something is not right. His kindness hides something darker. Before she understands what is happening, she is pulled into a situation she cannot control and forced to face parts of the world, and herself, she has never seen before. It is no longer just about survival.
This is a story about survival, but also about reclaiming control and finding strength after facing something dark. A reminder that danger does not always look the way you expect.
